Sufia Begum, 45, the second wife of Omar Ali Pramanik of Kachua village, [was charged with] having an illicit relation with her stepson, Abdul Hannan, 36.
[Sufia's brother Taimur Rahman said] Sufia and Hannan were whipped 40 times with 'Dorra' (local whip) and forced to apologise
Following the punishment, Sufia became physically and mentally ill [and] died while Taimur was raising funds for her treatment in Dhaka.
[According to Rahman] doctors said that her kidneys got affected when she was whipped.
He accused village arbitration head Nawsher Ali and members Zahir Uddin, Enamul Huq, Sazzad Hossain, Bakkar Ali and Meher Zan, and imam of local mosque Afsar Ali of causing her death [in a legal case he has filed].

"According to the information we've received, village elders tied 10 canes together and beat her four times," Masud Parvez, an investigating police officer, told the BBC.

But her brother told the BBC the family could not afford to take Ms Begum to Dhaka [to treat her], and she died on 14 December.
"Her body was swollen and I couldn't even recognise her," said Ms Begum's brother, Taimur Rahman.

In one of the most notorious cases, a 16-year-old girl who was raped was given 101 lashes in January for conceiving during the assault.
The girl’s father was also fined and was told that the family would be branded outcasts from their village if he did not pay. The 20-year-old rapist was pardoned.

Comments: Sadistic Islamic sharia once again. No wonder that Islamic terrorists are also sadistic in their wanton killing of innocent civilians. The same Islam - just different aspects.

Genocide accused Sundanese president Bashir says Islamic sharia punishment of cruelly whipping women like dogs in public is fine, vows stricter sharia if the South secedes

"If south Sudan secedes, we will change the constitution," Mr Bashir told a gathering of his supporters in the eastern town of Gederef on Sunday.
"Sharia and Islam will be the main source for the constitution, Islam the official religion and Arabic the official language," the president added.

"If she is lashed according to Sharia law, there is no investigation. Why are some people ashamed? This is Sharia," the president said.

Comments: Politically correct deniers of Islamic extremism and all those allegedly 'moderate' Muslims should talk to Bashir and have a discussion with him about Islam.
Is whipping a woman like a dog in public, while she cries and screams in agony, TRUE Islam or not?

It is not non-Muslims who 'misunderstand' Islam and think that Islam is violent.
It is many Muslims themselves, not some fringe minority but even leaders of nations, like Bashir here, who say such violence represent true Islam.

Video of woman cruelly flogged with long whips in public by Sudanese police being investigated for 'improperly' carrying out Islamic sharia punishment
Sudan's judiciary is investigating the brutal whipping of a young woman, allegedly by uniformed police, after shocking images were circulated on the Internet, media reports said on Monday. (AFP)
The [judiciary] statement said the investigation would look into whether the punishment was implemented improperly. (AP)
"This woman was punished under sharia, Islamic law, but there was a mistake in the way the punishment was carried out," Khartoum state Governor Abder Rahman al-Khidir of the ruling National Congress Party said. (AFP)
Article 154 and 155 of the Sudanese penal code [1991 Criminal Code, imposed two years after President Omar al-Bashir came to power in a military-backed coup (AFP)] mandates flogging up to 100 lashes as a punishment for ["indecent" behaviour (AFP)] adultery or running a brothel, as well as up to five years in prison.(AP)
Last year, a Sudanese journalist [Lubna Hussein (AP)] was fined [initially 40 lashes but only fined after publicity (AP)] for wearing trousers but said several of her companions had been whipped after pleading guilty to contravening indecency laws. (BBC)

Comments: They are more interested in whipping this woman, for what probably is some sort of sexual offense, than doing something about the ongoing genocide of rape and fear in Darfur.
And they don't see such cruel sharia punishments as a problem. They are only concerned that the whipping wasn't carried out properly.
Wonder how those naive defenders of sharia would like being whipped like that.

Anis Saputra, 24, and Kiki Hanafilia, 17, both married, caned under Islamic sharia law for kissing each other in Aceh province, Indonesia
They received eight lashes each in front of hundreds of people at a mosque in the city of Jantho after being caught having an extramarital kiss.
'In October, two women were caned in Aceh [one of several Indonesian provinces which have adopted sharia] for selling food during the fasting hours of Ramadan.'

Comments: Adultery is not the main issue here. What is important is that this is Islamic sharia religious punishment that is on a continuum [although probably not applied in Indonesia] to wife and child beatings, forcing women to wear the veil and not allowing them to mix with unrelated men at all or drive, as is the case in Saudi Arabia, limp amputations for theft, stoning to death for adultery, death for 'insulting' Islam (blasphemy) and apostasy (leaving Islam), and other cruel and 'barbaric' 7th century 'primordial' punishments that are also repressive and discriminates against people from other religions in many ways.
And as usual, those fake 'Human Rights' advocates, both Muslims and Liberal left elites, won't speak out (if they do, instead of covering-up, then its likely to be token) against things like these, while severely criticizing much more minor or irrelevant issues in other religions, especially Christianity, and labeling legitimate criticisms of Islam and Muslims as 'bigotry', 'hate' and 'Islamophobia' (That's their kind of 'free speech' and 'freedom of expression'. You are free to speak and express as it long as it all positive and do not mention the ugly deadly truths.)
Muslims also like to portray themselves as being more sexually pure, but this is not the case. For example, in the Koran, good Muslim men are promised food, drinks and sex with women (some dark eyed and some allegedly with large breasts) as a reward in heaven for obeying their god Allah. They are also allowed to marry up to four wives and in the case of Shiite Iran, unlimited number of 'temporary' wives. Read comments on this article for an example and a bit more information.

Musa Sayed, 45, and Ahmad Shah, 50, awaiting trial and facing death penalty in Afghanistan for conversion to Christianity from Islam
The two men were arrested in late May and early July, after footage of them reciting Christian prayers in Farsi and being baptized were broadcast by a local television station.
Norwegian Church Aid and Church World Service of the US were later suspended by the Afghan government after the television program reported that they were proselytizing, which is also illegal in Afghanistan.

Muslim school assistant caned a 10-year-old Christian student 10 times for bringing non-Halal meal to a Christian school in Malaysia
Iskander Fadeli, a Muslim senior school assistant at St. Thomas’ Primary School in Kuching, Malaysia, caned 10-years-old Christian student2 Basil Anak Beginda3 ten times on the hand for bring non-halal food – fried rice with pork sausages - to school for recess on Oct. 15.2 Fadeli was not authorized to carry out corporal punishments2 and eating non-halal meat or pork was allowed for Christians.5
He had since apologized, without specifically mentioning the caning,2 but investigations are continuing and Basil's mother has asked for his dismissal from the school saying her son was traumatized and is now scared to see him.3

Now I am a non-Muslim”.4 This means Basil would not be a Muslim, even according to the unjust fatwa and so should still not have been caned, even by someone authorized to carry out the ridiculous punishment.
[Please note and recognize in the future - this is a continuing feature, a pattern - the use of "sensitivity" (it's actually infantile hpyer-sensitivity that quickly escalates into a storm of murderous rage with calls for deaths and gruesome acts of terrorism) by Muslims to intimidate others, the twists and turns to dodge the issue, the veiled (not straight forward and not admitting) apology by the teacher, and the twisted Islamic supremacist sense of justice that says if one parent is a Muslim then the child must also be a Muslim. These sorts of fatwas are not coming from some lunatic terrorist ranting while cowardly hiding in a cave and plotting to kill women, children and babies, but from government approved bodies of Muslim nations through democratic process.]

Official Saudi fatwa issued against women cashiers but employers say will only act if government asks
The fatwa banning women from working as cashiers was issued six days1 ago by Saudi Arabia's Senior Scholars Council, the top Saudi Islamic authority and the official fatwa-issuing body.
The reason for the ruling by Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Aziz al-Sheikh and six members of the council was that it would result in the mixing of unrelated men and women, which was forbidden. The ruling said women should not attract men or be attracted by men at work.
The fatwa challenges3 government policy by going against labour ministry approval for women working as cashiers in a move to have more of them working.1
Although fatwas are not laws, they can be cited in court,1 as sharia is the legal code of the country.2
Despite the fatwa, women were still working and their employers said they will only act if required to do so by the labour ministry.1

Iran's “barbaric” plan to execute Ashtiani, who was sentenced to death by stoning for adultery, condemned internationally
British Foreign Secretary William Hague said, "This is a barbaric punishment and I think it will damage Iran in the eyes of the world,"1 "I would urge them, even now, to desist from it,".1 Brazilian president-elect Dilma Rousseff also said it would be a "barbarous act."1 Sakineh Mohammadi-Ashtiani,1 43,2 was allegedly on a list of people to be executed in the coming days2 and weeks.1 The method of execution2 and the crime for which she is to be executed are not know.
Ashtiani was initially sentenced to hang for involvement in the murder of her husband, and to be stoned to death for committing adultery.1 The first sentence was later reduced to 10 years in prison but her stoning sentence still stands.1 She denies the Iranian government's claim she had been convicted of murder and said the allegation was meant to “confuse the media so that they can kill me in secret.”2 Her son, Sajjad Ghaderzadeh, who was arrested last month and is now currently in prison, also said before his arrest that court officials stole files on the murder of his father so they could "promote his mother as a murderer."2

2 Algerian Christain converts acquitted of eating during Ramadan; 2 more cases still pending
Recent Christian converts Hocine and Salem Fallek has bee acquitted of "offending Islam" by eating during Ramadan. The prosecutor had asked for a three year sentence for the Algerian couple in Ain El Hammam, Kabylie, Algeria. Two other cases are still pending.
