France concerned of threat to freedom of expression from atheist Palestinian blogger Walid al-Husseini's arrest for blasphemy against Islam

France's foreign ministry spokeswoman said,

"France is concerned by the risks of damage to fundamental freedoms and in particular the freedom of expression, contained in the 'crime of blasphemy',".

"Freedom of religion and of conscience and freedom of expression... guarantee the right to have no religion and the right to express one's opinions without being harassed,"

Husseini said he left Islam because "this hollow faith which, just like any other religion, (is) a mythical ideology put at the service of politics."

Comments: The false taboo of 'Islamophobia' (promoted not only by radical Muslims but also by their politically correct appeasers) is also a blasphemy that stifles freedom of expression as it labels any criticism of Muslims, Islam or Islamic terrorist hate as 'hate'.

Husseini should watch out that he, like many atheists, does not over-generalize (out of ignorance, wishful thinking or deliberately) the problems, "hollowness" and terror of Islam to other religions.

He does not have to believe in any of the non-Islamic faiths but he should at least acknowledge that they don't have the problems Islam has, and if they do, then not nearly as severely or widespread as in Islam.

It would not make sense, if he equates the religion of those speaking out for his freedom with that of those seeking his death.

He also should know that totalitarian atheist communists in the past, and to some extent even now in North Korea, aren't that much better than the Islamic jihad terrorists and supremacists.

There is also a rising intolerant and 'aggressive secularism' (atheism) in the West that seeks to suppress religion (regardless of whether it inspires terrorism and other problems) and replace it with atheism, through false claims of equality, neutrality, impartiality and 'separation of church and state'.

The arrest of Husseini also show that many Muslims, while complaining of unfairness to them, treat others unfairly themselves.

In this case, the Palestinians like to portray themselves (despite so many despicable terrorist crimes committed by those on their side) as victims of 'Israeli aggression' but do not hesitate to victimize Husseini here.

This is a common theme, which can also be seen in the many complaints of Muslim immigrants in non-Muslim countries over so many issues (mostly caused by them), while non-Muslim locals and immigrants, in Muslim countries endure far worst conditions in silence.
