Israel's minister of strategic affairs said Wednesday that technical difficulties have pushed back the Iranian timetable for producing a nuclear weapon.
Moshe Yaalon, a former military chief of staff whose portfolio includes monitoring Iran, said he believes Iran is at least three years away from developing a nuclear bomb. Iran denies such intentions.
Israeli military officials have said Iran has the expertise to build a bomb, but still needs time to gather the necessary materials.
Israel considers Iran its most dangerous enemy because of its nuclear program, missiles and calls for Israel's destruction. Iran also supports the anti-Israel Hamas and Hezbollah militant groups.

The United States and its allies have up to three years to curb Iran's nuclear programme, which has been set back by technical difficulties and sanctions, a senior Israeli official said on Wednesday.
"I believe that this effort [U.S.-led action against Tehran] will grow, and will include areas beyond sanctions, to convince the Iranian regime that, effectively, it must choose between continuing to seek nuclear capability and surviving," Yaalon told Israel Radio.
Yaalon, a former armed forces chief, noted Iran's uranium enrichment plan had suffered setbacks.

The statement came a month after Iran said centrifuges used in uranium enrichment had been sabotaged.
There are suspicions, denied by Iran, that the centrifuges were targeted by the Stuxnet computer worm.

Iran hangs alleged Israeli spy Ali Akbar Siadati for passing on air force information for money ($60,000 for info and $7,000 on every meeting with Israelis)

According to IRNA [the official news agency], Siadati began his alleged espionage activities in 2004 and was arrested in 2008 while planning to flee Iran.
The report also said he had confessed to providing confidential information in return for $60,000, and to receiving up to $7,000 in every meeting with Israeli handlers.
Espionage is punishable by death under Iranian law.
In 2008, Iran executed Ali Ashtari, an electronics salesman who was convicted of relaying information on Iran's nuclear program and other sensitive data to Israel's Mossad spy agency.
And in 2000, a court convicted 10 Iranian Jews of spying for Israel in a closed-door trial and sentenced them to prison terms ranging from four to 13 years. All were released before serving out their full sentences after international pressure.

He was suspected of meeting Israeli agents in Turkey, Thailand and Holland.
He was said to have passed on numbers of Iranian military aircraft, training and operational flight information, causes of air disasters, and vital information on Revolutionary Guard air navigation systems.

Iran hanged 11 men authorities said were members of an armed Sunni militant group convicted of bombings, the official IRNA news agency reported.
The men were said to be members of Jundallah, the group that claimed responsibility for an attack [to avenge the hanging of its leader, Abdulmalik Rigi, earlier this year] last week on Shiite worshippers that killed 39 people in the southeastern port city of Chahbahar.
Jundallah has been waging an insurgency for years in remote Sistan-Baluchistan province, a lawless area in southeastern Iran bordering Pakistan where smuggling and banditry are rife. The groups says it is fighting for the rights of the Baluchi minority, which it says suffers discrimination at the hands of Iran's Shiite's leadership.
[Those hanged were convicted of alleged] involvement in attacks over the past years that killed 15 policemen and 12 members of the Revolutionary Guards — Iran's most powerful military force. The were also accused of supplying arms and refuge to terrorists, armed kidnapping and arms smuggling.

Shadowy Sunni militant group Jundallah (Army of God) has claimed several deadly attacks in Sistan-Baluchestan, of which Zahedan is the capital and which borders Afghanistan and Pakistan, including a December 15 suicide bombing in the city of Chabahar that killed 39 people and wounded dozens.
The bomber struck in a central square as worshippers took part in the procession marking the eve of the last day of Ashura, the most revered Shiite mourning ritual.
Iranian officials charge that the group is receiving support from the intelligence services of the United States, Britain and Pakistan.
[After the Chabahar attack] Iranian president "asked Zardari to order his country's security forces to quickly arrest known terrorists and hand them over to the Islamic Republic of Iran," Ahmadinejad's office said in a statement posted on its website.
[Sistan-Baluchestan provincial justice department head Ebrahim Hamidi said] "These corrupt and Mohareb (waging war against God) elements ... went through all the legal and religious procedures of receiving a fair and public trial,"
[Those hanged were accused of] "corruption on earth, fighting against God and the Prophet and confronting the sacred regime of the Islamic Republic of Iran."
Under Iranian penal code these crimes are punishable by death.

Men, women and children dressed in black gathered in cities across the country as the 10 days of rituals mourning the death of Imam Hussein, the faith's third imam, reached a peak.
Imam Hussein, a grandson of the Prophet Mohammed, was killed by armies of the caliph Yazid in 680 AD. Tradition holds that he was decapitated and his body mutilated in the battle at Karbala, now in Iraq.
Shiites make up around 15 percent of Muslims worldwide. They represent the majority populations in Iran, Iraq and Bahrain, and form significant communities in Afghanistan, Lebanon, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Iran president Ahmadinejad sacks foreign minister Manouchehr Mottaki, replacement is top nuclear official Ali Akbar Salehi - Nuclearizing policy
The official IRNA news agency gave no reasons for the move, and reported that Ali Akbar Salehi, a vice-president and head of Iran's atomic energy organisation, would become caretaker foreign minister. (AFP)
Mottaki was fired as he was in the middle of a tour of African nations that took him to Senegal, where he delivered a message from Ahmadinejad to the West African nation's president on Monday, according to the official IRNA news agency. (AP)
Under Iranian law, the president has to submit his nominations for ministerial posts to parliament for approval. (AFP)
Analysts believe the dismissal may be part of a fight for power within the ruling conservative movement in Iran - between the president and parliament. (BBC)
Mr Mottaki is widely seen as an ally of the speaker of parliament, Ali Larijani. (BBC)
Mr Mottaki was the campaign manager [in 2005 presidential election] for one of Mr Ahmadinejad's rivals, Ali Larijani. (BBC)

Comments: Conflicts involving Muslims tend to end up with casualties of hundreds of thousands (West Papua, Darfur, Algeria, Iran-Iraq war, East Timor, Bangladesh war of Independence from Pakistan and partition of India and Pakistan, to name some) and even millions (southern Sudan) in recent times, without nuclear weapons.
It just might be Armageddon if they get nuclear weapons and become nuclear-suicide bombers.
In many Muslim cultures, so-called 'honor' and 'revenge' are very important and the humiliated foreign minister here will no doubt be looking for something equivalent to 'honor killing' in revenge.

[Iranian-born Canadian resident] Saeed Malekpour, 35, was convicted of "designing and moderating adult content websites" [software he designed was used without his knowledge for a porn site], "agitation against the regime" in Tehran, and "insulting the sanctity of Islam," according to an online campaign [Campaign for Release of Saeed Malekpour] calling for his release.
Malekpour arrived in Canada in 2004, but was detained in Iran after returning in 2008 to visit his ailing father. He was sentenced to death on Saturday.

Islamic supremacism: Women's sport is "dirty" Western culture says senior Iranian cleric Golpayegani in opposition to President Ahmadinejad's stance
Women's sport is a humiliating "dirty" Western culture, says Grand Ayatollah Lotfollah Safi Golpayegani, a prominent cleric in the holy city of Qom, according to AP, in opposition to President Ahmadinejad who praised Iranian women medalists at the 16th Asian games at Guangzhou, China.1
AP reports that
RadioFreeEurope/RadioLiberty reports that Golpayegani said on November 30 that sending Iranian women to international sporting events is a "disgrace" that should be stopped.2
Ayatollah Abbas Kabi, a member of the Society of Qom Seminary Teachers, has also criticized the state TV for broadcasting women competing calling it "deplorable" and "bizarre."2
In 2008, Ahmad Alamolhoda, the Friday Prayer leader in Mashhad, described the participation of Iranian women in the Beijing Olympics, where a female rower Homa Hossein carried the national flag as "waging war on Islamic values."2

AP originally reported that the cleric who made the "dirty" comment was Grand Ayatollah Sheikh Ali Safi Golpayegani and that name was originally used in this article.
But AP has now made an announcement that it made a mistake and that the name of the cleric was Grand Ayatollah Lotfollah Safi Golpayegani and not his late brother Grand Ayatollah Ali Safi Golpayegani.
As a result the name has been change here accordingly.

Calling Western culture "dirty" is just part of the Islamic supremacist ideology that views non-Muslims or infidels or Kuffar as inferior, while using victim-card and race-card by calling any criticism of Islam as 'racism', 'dicrimination' and 'Islamophobia'.
And as usual, this will be followed by deafening silence from women's right, anti-racist, anti-fascist and human rights organizations and people who only criticize the Christian West.
Note that this is coming from senior religious figures and not from some fringe minority, as politically correct elite apologists of Islamic extremism and some Muslims like to say in excuse. Just a reminder to watch out for the 'minimizers' trying to 'minimize' the issue.

Last month, the body set up by Suadi Arabian government to issue fatwas issued a fatwa forbidding women from working as cashiers saying that mixing of unrelated men and women was forbidden.
Muslims like to portray, to people ignorant about Islam, their sexual repression and sex-segregation as protecting women and having higher sexual moral standards.
The quick dismissal to this dubious argument is to point out that in the Quran, pious Muslims are promised food, drinks, women and sex in the Islamic heaven! A god (in this case Allah) that promises food and sex as rewards for obeying him and treats women as sex objects and trophies to be won is a very questionable god. Some terrorists (see Abdel Shehadeh) believed that they would get 72 virgins for a heavenly orgy, if they died carrying out jihad terror attack. Some translations of the Koran even say that Qur'an 78:33 describes some females (houris) as having 'large breasts'.
As for women's right, to point just one example, Koran 4:34 tells husbands to "beat" disobedient wives, and the UAE supreme court ruled in October that Sharia (Islamic law) allows the husband to beat his wife and children if it leaves no marks.
Also keep in mind that the Islamic god Allah is a pre-Islamic Arabian pagan (moon?) god, and in many pagan religions there is sex in heaven with even gods having sex. Take the Greek and Roman pagan gods for example. So this heavenly sex shows the pagan elements in Islam. This further supports the thesis that Islam is a religion created by mixing elements from paganism, Judaism and Christianity with Muhammad's own ideas and modeled on Christianity (with violent jihad replaced with Jesus' peaceful message), where Jesus the messiah who came to fulfill Biblical prophecies, with Muhammad taking the place of Jesus and also coming to fulfill alleged prophecies (which prophecies and where? If they say in Jewish and Christian Bibles, they will get into trouble since there is none, except for the prophecies of a false prophet and the anti-Christ. The scriptures also contradict the Islamic account of things. If they then say that the Bible is unreliable, they contradicting themselves since the Koran says it is the word of god.). This is just a taste of some major points in the usual twists and turns in their arguments.
The funny thing is that the need by Muslims to cover up women in burquas and separated them from men seems to show, as someone suggested to me, that Muslims have such strong sexual lusts with such a low threshold for arousal that that even seeing women is likely to lead them into temptation. Are they that horny that even the mere sight of a woman turns them on to a dangerous level? This is not too surprising though given that every time they think of heaven and its rewards, there is always that thought hanging in there.

Comment: Oh, so violence is allowed only against non-Muslims? How un-politically correct of Mottaki to say such things. If a Christian leader had said something similar, Muslims and PC censors would be outraged. But since it was said by a Muslim, everyone is quite and there is no criticism.
This shows the double standard of many Muslims and the politically correct elite censors. They will unfairly and harshly criticize and condemn with righteous indignation, non-Muslim over even something minor and insignificant but won't say a word against Muslims for exactly the same thing or something far worst.

According to US diplomatic cables leaked by WikiLeaks, Mohammad Reza Sadeghnia, 43, admitted being an Iranian agent and carried out surveillance on 'two anti-Iranian government broadcasters — London-based Voice of America commentator Reza Nourizadeh and Jamshid Sharmahd, who runs Los Angeles-based radio programming for opposition group Tondar.'
He lived for years in Ann Arbor, Mich., and was arrested in July 2009 for trying to hire a hitman to kill Sharmahd for $32,000. He confessed to the crime after the man he tried to hire refused his offer and agreed to testify against him.
He was released a year later and allowed to travel to Iran while on probation to see his ailing father on the promise that he would return by Oct. 25. He has failed to keep this deadline and has not come back yet so far.
Sharmahd told the Associated Press that Sadeghnia pretended to offer him donation or suggestions and insisted on seeing him in person.

Shahla Jahed, former 'temporary' wife of footballer Nasser Mohammad Khani, hanged in Iran for allegedly stabbing to death the 'permanent' wife
Jahed was hanged for stabbing to death Laleh Saharkhizan in 2002. She confessed to the crime but later withdrew the confession widely suspected of being forced.
Iran's Shiite Islam allows time limited marriages which expires after the agreed period, although it can be renewed.
Men are allowed up to four permanent wives and any number of temporary wives, while women are only allowed one marriage at a time.
Karim Lahidji, the president of the Iranian League for Human Rights, said that Jahed 'never had a fair trial' and that she was 'a victim of a misogynous society'.

A brief summary of a few of the details to emerge from the US embassy cables leaked by WikiLeaks
Saudi donors were chief financiers of militant groups such as al-Qaeda2
Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah “frequently exhorted the US to attack Iran to put an end to its nuclear weapons programme” and asked them to “cut off the head of the snake” at a meeting in 2008.2
Leaders in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt referred to Iran as "evil", an "existential threat" and a power that "is going to take us to war"3
Officials in Jordan and Bahrain have openly called for Iran's nuclear programme to be stopped by any means, including military.3
Iranian Red Crescent was used by Iran to smuggle Iranian weapons and agents to Hezbollah during 2006 Israel-Lebanon war.4
'He [a credible source] said Iran used the IRC to enter Iraq during the 1980-86 war between the two countries, to get into the Balkans in the 1990s and to support Shia opposition in Bahrain and Yemen from 1997-2000. According to the cable, he said he was asked to sign certificates for two or three al-Quds officers to travel to Iraq under cover of the IRC after the US invasion. He was then asked to sign between 10 and 30 certificates. He said he refused and they were signed by a superior.'4

Comment: Not very politically correct talks in secret while censoring everyone else. Nothing too new or too much either. It can all be easily guessed even with the tiny amount of information that had been put up on this site over the past two months.
The real revelation from these leaks is the absence of any mention by the polite PC diplomats of the religion of Islam or Muslims and their culture, and the role they play in all of the world's problems.
As Germany's Family Minister Kristina Schröder said 'Religion was part of culture and culture shaped behaviour'
Or could it be that WikiLeaks did not leak any critical assessment of Islam, Muslims or their culture?
There is no hope of a solution unless the problem is honestly and truthfully stated.
And it is no time for political correctness when innocent people are being persecuted and even killed daily.

Iranian Nazi site IranNazi.Ir unblocked by Iran’s Ministry of Culture and Islamic guidance after a brief ban
The 'pro-Nazi and anti-Jewish website'1 calling itself “Historical Research Society for World War Two and the Third Reich”2 explained the temporary block saying that

According to Reuters, the site does not appear to be linked to the Iranian state,2 but Rooz Online has accused deputy minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Muhammad Ali Ramin of being behind lifting of the ban.1
Ramin is a known supporter of Nazi ideas and had neo-Nazi connections when he lived in Europe. Iranian journalist Mohammad Reza Yazdanpanah argues that he is a major force behind President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's holocaust denial.1
Arab-Iranian activist Kawthar Ali warned that 'Nazi principles and the prevalence of anti-Semitic trends in Iran' endanger not only the Jews but other minorities such as the Arabs who also are Semites.1

Bolivia's Morales defiant against the US over its ties to the Iranians who have just been told to leave by their former Gambian allies
In a blunt message to the U.S. at a regional defense ministers' forum attended by U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates, the 'colorful leftist' Bolivian President Evo Morales said that
He has expressed interest in buying Iranian aircrafts for the Bolivian military and wants to build a nuclear power plant with Iranian help.
Gates replied that Bolivia was free to ally itself with anyone but that it “needs to be mindful of the number of United Nations Security Council resolutions that have been passed with respect to Iran's behavior.”

A UN report says North Korea supplying Iran, Syria and Myanmar with ballistic and nuclear equipment
The report was completed in May but was only published on Friday after being blocked by China. Trade in ballistic and nuclear equipment is banned by the U.N. security council.

Some of the methods used by Iran in the shipment includes mislabeling containers and a claim, rejected by Nigerian authorities, that the cargo ended up in Nigeria by accident. This suggests the North Koreans are not only trading weapons but might also be sharing information with Iran on how to illegally transfer cargoes. Iran seems to be using the same methods the U.N. says North Korea uses to transfer illegal cargoes.

Nigeria said to have evidence linking Iran to secret weapons shipment to the country
Nigeria says two Iranians, Azimi Agajany and Sayed Akbar Tahmaesebi were behind the secret shipment of 13 containers of weapons, including 107mm artillery rockets, rifle rounds2 and grenades,1 to the country. The shipment was made by them through a Tehran-based company called International Trading and General Construction.2 The containers, deceptively labeled "packages of glass wool and pallets of stone", were loaded at Bandar Abbas in Iran by France based shipping company CMA CGM and arrived at Lagos in July.2
The containers sat at the port until October 26 2 and were about to be shipped to Gambia1 when it was seized by the Nigerian authorities, who said it had been monitored before arrival.2 The authorities also said the cargo was intended for Nigeria and that "any argument that the cargo came into the country by mistake is false."1 They believe the arms were ordered by some local politicians to be used if they lose in next year's election.2
These revelations come only a fews days after Iranians demonstrated shouting “Death to America” outside the former US embassy in Tehran, which they now call “Den of Spies”.3

(Bad) Muslim psychology: The blame game
Iran has arrested four alleged Kurdish terrorists and accused Britain of link to them via Jalil Fattahi, thought to be living in Britain. The British deny supporting terror. Political science teacher Houchang Hassan-yari, of Canada's Royal Military College said,
it is Tehran's standard practice to finger "outside forces and outside enemies for everything bad that goes on inside the country."[It is not just Tehran. It is how so many Muslims think. They simply blame others for all that's wrong with themselves, either to excuse themselves or to denigrate others.]
