200 Shiite Muslims arrested in Malaysia during Ashur celebration. Shiite Islam is illegal and considered a threat to national security allegedly for allowing the killing of non-Shiite 'Infidel' Muslims

From IHRC (The self-styled 'Islamic Human Rights Commission')

During the Ashura commemoration event on 16th December 2010, JAIS (state religious authority in Malaysia) raided the Hauzah ar-Redah in Gombak, State of Selangor and arrested 200 people including the local Aalim(cleric) as well as the visiting aalim(cleric/speaker) from Iran.

Today, the Malay newspapers in Malaysia carried this story on their front pages in terms of a shia threat and language reminiscent of a culture of demonization of shias within Malaysia.

From AP

More than 200 Muslim Shiites—including Iranians, Indonesians and Pakistanis—were detained in one of the biggest swoops on outlawed Muslim sects in Malaysia and may be charged with breaching Islamic laws, an official said Monday.

Government authorities in Muslim-majority Malaysia consider only the Sunni denomination to be legal.

Islamic officials raided a shop house in the Gombak district in central Selangor state last week and arrested the group,

It was the largest swoop of outlawed groups in recent months, the department director, Muhammad Khusrin Munawi, told state media. He said the Shia doctrine is a threat to national security because it permits the killing of Muslims from other sects who are regarded as infidels.

The arrests of the Shia followers have been slammed by some religious scholars, who accused Islamic authorities of becoming more hard-lined.

From AFP,

Shiite community leader Kamil Zuhairi Abdul Aziz told AFP the group had submitted a protest letter to the national human rights commission (Suhakam) after a recent raid of their prayer hall by state religious officers.

Kamil Zuhairi said there were about 40,000 Shiite followers in Malaysia but most practised their faith behind closed doors for fear of being stigmatised and targeted by the authorities.

Shiites make up around 15 percent of Muslims worldwide. They represent the majority populations in Iraq, Iran and Bahrain and form significant communities in Afghanistan, Lebanon, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Shiites believe the Prophet Mohammed should have been succeeded by his cousin Ali rather than his companion Abu Bakr. Traditional Sunnis believe any suggestion that Abu Bakr was a usurper is tantamount to blasphemy.

Comments: Well, at least Muslims are fighting among themselves.

They are either fighting among themselves or fighting non-Muslims.

The self-styled 'Islamic Human Rights Commission', based in the UK,said on its website the following.

Don't be a Silent Victim

Have you been verbally abused, harassed, discriminated against or even violently attacked because you are Muslim? Have you been mistreated by the police or security services or a victim of anti-terror laws? Click here to report your incident to us in confidence and, if you wish, anonymously. If you are looking for counselling instead of or as well as case support you can also visit Faith Counselling.

Typical Muslim victim-card organization. Looks like a human rights fraud organization trying to undermine anti-terror efforts while ignoring Islamic extremism and terror.

Palestinian Jordanians and native Bedouins clash at soccer match in Jordan – Palestinian loyalty questioned but they say they face Glass-ceiling

Wehdat [Palestinian] beat Faisali [Jordanian Bedouin tribes] 1-0 in a crucial game at Amman stadium and fans clashed afterwards 'injuring 250 people [mostly from a fence collapse] in violence that pointed to the deep divisions between the nation's native Bedouin clans and its Palestinians.'

There are an estimated 1.8 million Palestinians in Jordan and they 'complain that they are barred from taking up security and army posts or holding other top positions in the Jordanian government.'

'Native Jordanians feel the Palestinian refugees have no allegiance to the country.'

'In a match last year between the same teams, Faisali fans chanted slogans deriding the Palestinian origin of King Abdullah II's wife, Queen Rania, and their son Crown Prince Hussein'.

Comments: Loyalty of Muslims questioned by other Muslims so can't blame it on 'racism' or 'Islamophobia' here.

This from a previous article might have something to with it.
Arab peoples tend to place too much trust in “institutions rooted in primordial loyalties, notably kinship, clanism and religion.” [United Nations Arab Human Development Report, 2009]
These are complex issues that needs to be discussed openly but the debate is always shut down by automatically calling it 'racism', 'xenophobia', 'Islamophobia', 'insensitive' and all sorts of other simplistic labels.

For a bit of past history, in 1970 during 'Black September' in Jordan, there were armed clashes between Palestinians and Jordanians.

Iran president Ahmadinejad sacks foreign minister Manouchehr Mottaki, replacement is top nuclear official Ali Akbar Salehi - Nuclearizing policy

The official IRNA news agency gave no reasons for the move, and reported that Ali Akbar Salehi, a vice-president and head of Iran's atomic energy organisation, would become caretaker foreign minister. (AFP)

Mottaki was fired as he was in the middle of a tour of African nations that took him to Senegal, where he delivered a message from Ahmadinejad to the West African nation's president on Monday, according to the official IRNA news agency. (AP)

Under Iranian law, the president has to submit his nominations for ministerial posts to parliament for approval. (AFP)

Analysts believe the dismissal may be part of a fight for power within the ruling conservative movement in Iran - between the president and parliament. (BBC)

Mr Mottaki is widely seen as an ally of the speaker of parliament, Ali Larijani. (BBC)

Mr Mottaki was the campaign manager [in 2005 presidential election] for one of Mr Ahmadinejad's rivals, Ali Larijani. (BBC)

Mr Mottaki and Mr Larijani are often described as part of a pragmatic conservative bloc that believes the president's inflammatory speeches and radical agenda have made Iran more vulnerable. (BBC)

The sacking of Manouchehr Mottaki is an indication of a struggle between the president and parliament in which the assembly has accused Ahmadinejad of concentrating more power in his own hands and riding roughshod over the views of lawmakers. (Reuters)

Ahmadinejad has delayed signing into law legislation passed by parliament, and held up funds due to be invested in Tehran, all the while insisting it is he who has precedence over the assembly within Iran's multi-layered political system. (Reuters)

Relations worsened when Mr Ahmadinejad's plans for presidential envoys stationed abroad were vetoed by Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei over the foreign ministry's concerns it would create a parallel diplomatic service. (BBC)

Khabaronline, a website close to the government, said Mottaki had "harshly criticized the president for setting up a parallel diplomatic apparatus." (Reuters)

Mr Mottaki had faced criticism in Iran over the international pressure on the country to halt its nuclear enrichment programme. (BBC)

U.S.-based Iran analyst Trita Parsi wrote that Salehi's appointment "may indicate the nuclearization of Iranian foreign policy." (Reuters)

"This move shows not only the internal tensions but the primacy of the nuclear issue as Iran's main foreign policy objective," said Rasool Nafisi, an expert on Iranian affairs at Strayer University in Virginia. (AP)

Comments: Conflicts involving Muslims tend to end up with casualties of hundreds of thousands (West Papua, Darfur, Algeria, Iran-Iraq war, East Timor, Bangladesh war of Independence from Pakistan and partition of India and Pakistan, to name some) and even millions (southern Sudan) in recent times, without nuclear weapons.

It just might be Armageddon if they get nuclear weapons and become nuclear-suicide bombers.

In many Muslim cultures, so-called 'honor' and 'revenge' are very important and the humiliated foreign minister here will no doubt be looking for something equivalent to 'honor killing' in revenge.

Genocide in Darfur continuing with “silent” rape and fear says UN prosecutor Ocampo – 300,000 dead and 2.7 million displaced in seven years

From the UN News Centre (1)
International Criminal Court (ICC) prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo told the U.N. Security Council

Genocide is still continuing in Darfur and Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir, already indicted by the International Criminal Court (ICC), is undertaking “enormous efforts” to cover up the crimes and manipulate the world community

in just the last six months, hundreds of civilians in the Darfur region were killed and hundreds of thousands forcibly displaced, while more than 2 million people suffer a subtle form of genocide – genocide by rape and fear.

“President al-Bashir, in accordance with the chamber’s findings, issued the criminal orders to attack civilians and destroy their communities. Logically, President al-Bashir does not want to investigate those who are following his orders. President al-Bashir is using his promises of justice to manipulate the international community and cover up the crimes.”

The ICC in July issued a second arrest warrant for Mr. al-Bashir, adding genocide to the list of charges for crimes he has allegedly committed in war-ravaged Darfur. In March 2009, he became the first sitting head of State to be indicted by the Court, which charged him with two counts of war crimes and five counts of crimes against humanity.

Speaking to reporters following his briefing to the Council, Mr. Moreno-Ocampo called rape and fear the “silent weapons” of genocide that slip below the radar of peacekeeping forces in the region, which has been plagued by atrocities since war erupted in 2003 between the Government, supported by the Janjaweed militia, and rebels seeking greater autonomy.
From Reuters
Western powers have raised new concerns in recent months about the Darfur conflict where the UN says at least 300,000 people have died since rebel groups took up arms against Bashir's Arab-dominated government in 2003.

"The situation in Darfur is not just a humanitarian crisis, it is a systematic attack against the civilian population. The situation in Darfur is a genocide, it is an ongoing genocide," Ocampo said.
From the UN News Centre (2)
At least 300,000 people have been killed and 2.7 million driven from their homes as a result of the fighting that has ravaged Darfur over the past seven years.

Comments: They are real good at stacking up huge number of kills.

Atheist soviet communist uncle Joe [Joseph Stalin], who said
One death is a tragedy; one million is a statistic.
and who himself stacked up around 20 million, would be impressed.

The conflict in Darfur, although not mentioned in either the UN or Reuters reports, is between Muslims, unlike the conflict in southern Sudan, that killed at least 2 million, which is between Christian and Animist Black south, and Muslim Arab north.

But there arguably might be some element of race involved in Darfur as well with mainly Blacks from Darfur fighting the Arab government due to neglect and bad governance, although this division is not completely true.

And as usual bleeding hearts for the hypersensitive ego and feelings of Islamic extremists, terrorists and people who don't want to admit the truth, won't worry about this too much.

They are too busy looking for even better ways to massage those egos, by censoring facts and criticism by labeling them 'hate' 'Islamophobic' and all sorts of 'hate-labels' to demonize them without giving any rational arguments, that they overlook even staggering number of deaths, while demonizing even minor flaws and mistakes on the part of those who criticize and point out the truth.

A quote to describe them would be
One [Muslim] death [at the hands of non-Muslims or TRUE moderate Muslims] is a tragedy; one million [non-Muslim deaths or Muslim deaths at the hands of other Muslims] is a statistic.

Shiite doctor Naushad Valiyani arrested for alleged blasphemy for throwing away business card of Muhammad Faizan in Pakistan

From AFP
"The arrest was made after the complainant told the police that Valiyani threw his business card, which had his full name, Muhammad Faizan, in a dustbin during a visit to his clinic," regional police chief Mushtaq Shah told AFP.
From AP
Naushad Valiyani, a Muslim doctor in the southern city of Hyderabad, was arrested Friday after a complaint was lodged with police alleging his actions had insulted the Prophet Muhammad, said regional police chief Mushtaq Shah.
From AFP
Shah said the issue had been resolved after Valiyani, a member of Pakistan's Ismaili community, an offshoot of Shiite Islam, apologised but local religious leaders intervened and pressed for action.

Shah said ... the police had registered a case under the Blasphemy Act.
From AP
Shah said police were investigating whether Valiyani should be charged with blasphemy.

Comments: Doesn't take much to 'insult' or 'blaspheme' Islam and the hypersensitive Muslims does it?

This is exactly what is also happening in the West with criticism of the problems with Islam and Muslims being labeled as 'hate' and 'Islamophobia' - in other words, insult or blasphemy.

Sunni-Shiite clash also involved here.

Members of the Ahmadi sect of Islam are also frequent target of blasphemy accusations.

There is also the case of Christian woman Asia Bibi, sentenced to death after an argument with Muslims women who insulted her by saying water she carried was 'unclean' (In Pakistan Christians are frequently considered unclean). Her death sentence is set to be appealed.

Can't blame 'racist' 'facist' 'imperialists' (and whatever hate-labels and name calling the PC fascists and Islamofascists fancy) White Westerners, or Christian 'crusaders', or invaders or occupiers, or Zionists (Jews) for this one - the usual suspect scape goats for all and any problems of Islam and Muslims.

This is Islam's 'bloody innards' so nothing to do with 'infidels' or 'Kuffar'.

The point as Samuel Huntington pointed out long before 9-11 attacks is that
Islam's borders are bloody and so are its innards. The fundamental problem for the West is not Islamic fundamentalism. It is Islam, a different civilisation whose people are convinced of the superiority of their culture and are obsessed with the inferiority of their power —— Huntington's 1998 text The Clash of Civilizations and the Remaking of the World Order.

Iranian Nazi site IranNazi.Ir unblocked by Iran’s Ministry of Culture and Islamic guidance after a brief ban

The 'pro-Nazi and anti-Jewish website'1 calling itself “Historical Research Society for World War Two and the Third Reich”2  explained the temporary block saying that
"And because Jews have always used their power and influence for their advantage, we were not an exception (to this) and only after 17 days we became the target of these creatures and we faced this problem because of Jews' personal complaints."2
Reuters said that in Iran the government has 'strict controls on the Internet blocking many sites deemed undesirable.'2

 Al-Arabia also said that
While it blocks around five million political, cultural, religious, and “indecent” websites, the Iranian Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance permitted the operation of a website called irannazi.ir1
This has lead to objections from both 'pro-government website Tabnak and the pro-reformist Rooz Online.'1

According to Reuters, the site does not appear to be linked to the Iranian state,2 but Rooz Online has accused deputy minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Muhammad Ali Ramin of being behind lifting of the ban.1

Ramin is a known supporter of Nazi ideas and had neo-Nazi connections when he lived in Europe. Iranian journalist Mohammad Reza Yazdanpanah argues that he is a major force behind President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's holocaust denial.1

Arab-Iranian activist Kawthar Ali warned that 'Nazi principles and the prevalence of anti-Semitic trends in Iran' endanger not only the Jews but other minorities such as the Arabs who also are Semites.1

 Al Arabya reports,
Ali pointed out that the Iranian government uses such extremist trends to serve its interests and to propagate nationalist ideologies that assert the superiority of Persians.1

Ali cited the example of communists who originally called for social justice but are now adopting extremist nationalist ideas.1

“For example Heshmat Raeisi, one of the most prominent labor movement leaders, is now advocating Persian nationalism in a country that houses a variety of ethnicities.”1

Sources: 1. Al Arabiya, 2. Reuters

Comment: Note the racism of some Persian supremacists against Jews (Arabs and who else?), the neo-Nazi link to Iran and 'social justice' Communists turning into extreme nationalists.

See if there is a link or similarities between the racism here and the recent story of Arab Saudi school textbooks in the UK asking students to list the “reprehensible” qualities of the Jews and teaching them that they want to gain resources and control the world, while reminding that some of them were turned into pigs and apes.

See if there is a link or similarities between 'social justice' (victim-card) Communists turning into extreme (racist?) nationalists here and Iran's left-wing allies like Bolivian President Evo Morales and Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez.

Although it is not discussed here, watch out for Arab nationalism and racism too.

The website itself is not a problem. It and the other around five million websites should not be banned. This is not to condone racism, but everyone should be free to question anything they like, be it Islam, race or the Holocaust. There is no place for blasphemy laws, both religious (Asia Bibi death sentence and the possible life sentence for Walid Husayin) and non-religious PC censorship (Charges against Geert Wilders), and 'cyber-stalking' thought police.
