Genocide accused Sundanese president Bashir says Islamic sharia punishment of cruelly whipping women like dogs in public is fine, vows stricter sharia if the South secedes

From the BBC

"If south Sudan secedes, we will change the constitution," Mr Bashir told a gathering of his supporters in the eastern town of Gederef on Sunday.

"Sharia and Islam will be the main source for the constitution, Islam the official religion and Arabic the official language," the president added.

Separately, Mr Bashir also commented on a recent high-profile case in which a video posted on the internet showed a woman being flogged [See this story: Video of woman cruelly flogged with long whips in public by Sudanese police being investigated for 'improperly' carrying out Islamic sharia punishment] by police in the north.

"If she is lashed according to Sharia law, there is no investigation. Why are some people ashamed? This is Sharia," the president said.

Comments: Politically correct deniers of Islamic extremism and all those allegedly 'moderate' Muslims should talk to Bashir and have a discussion with him about Islam.

Is whipping a woman like a dog in public, while she cries and screams in agony, TRUE Islam or not?

Also ask him if Genocide and mass rape haram or allowed in Islamic sharia law.

It is not non-Muslims who 'misunderstand' Islam and think that Islam is violent.

It is many Muslims themselves, not some fringe minority but even leaders of nations, like Bashir here, who say such violence represent true Islam.

Where are all the Christian hating feminists? Why don't they moan about this?

And where are all the fake 'human rights' and 'multiculturalism' supporters now? Too busy hating the West and Christians to say anything about far worst problems in Islam obviously.

Video of woman cruelly flogged with long whips in public by Sudanese police being investigated for 'improperly' carrying out Islamic sharia punishment

Sudan's judiciary is investigating the brutal whipping of a young woman, allegedly by uniformed police, after shocking images were circulated on the Internet, media reports said on Monday. (AFP)

The [judiciary] statement said the investigation would look into whether the punishment was implemented improperly. (AP)

"This woman was punished under sharia, Islamic law, but there was a mistake in the way the punishment was carried out," Khartoum state Governor Abder Rahman al-Khidir of the ruling National Congress Party said. (AFP)

Article 154 and 155 of the Sudanese penal code [1991 Criminal Code, imposed two years after President Omar al-Bashir came to power in a military-backed coup (AFP)] mandates flogging up to 100 lashes as a punishment for ["indecent" behaviour (AFP)] adultery or running a brothel, as well as up to five years in prison.(AP)

Last year, a Sudanese journalist [Lubna Hussein (AP)] was fined [initially 40 lashes but only fined after publicity (AP)] for wearing trousers but said several of her companions had been whipped after pleading guilty to contravening indecency laws. (BBC)

Sharia, or Islamic law, has been implemented in Sudan since 1983. (BBC)

The introduction was one reason why people in the south, where most people are Christian or follow traditional religions, took up arms against the Arabic-speaking, Muslim north. (BBC)

Comments: They are more interested in whipping this woman, for what probably is some sort of sexual offense, than doing something about the ongoing genocide of rape and fear in Darfur.

And they don't see such cruel sharia punishments as a problem. They are only concerned that the whipping wasn't carried out properly.

Wonder how those naive defenders of sharia would like being whipped like that.

Genocide in Darfur continuing with “silent” rape and fear says UN prosecutor Ocampo – 300,000 dead and 2.7 million displaced in seven years

From the UN News Centre (1)
International Criminal Court (ICC) prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo told the U.N. Security Council

Genocide is still continuing in Darfur and Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir, already indicted by the International Criminal Court (ICC), is undertaking “enormous efforts” to cover up the crimes and manipulate the world community

in just the last six months, hundreds of civilians in the Darfur region were killed and hundreds of thousands forcibly displaced, while more than 2 million people suffer a subtle form of genocide – genocide by rape and fear.

“President al-Bashir, in accordance with the chamber’s findings, issued the criminal orders to attack civilians and destroy their communities. Logically, President al-Bashir does not want to investigate those who are following his orders. President al-Bashir is using his promises of justice to manipulate the international community and cover up the crimes.”

The ICC in July issued a second arrest warrant for Mr. al-Bashir, adding genocide to the list of charges for crimes he has allegedly committed in war-ravaged Darfur. In March 2009, he became the first sitting head of State to be indicted by the Court, which charged him with two counts of war crimes and five counts of crimes against humanity.

Speaking to reporters following his briefing to the Council, Mr. Moreno-Ocampo called rape and fear the “silent weapons” of genocide that slip below the radar of peacekeeping forces in the region, which has been plagued by atrocities since war erupted in 2003 between the Government, supported by the Janjaweed militia, and rebels seeking greater autonomy.
From Reuters
Western powers have raised new concerns in recent months about the Darfur conflict where the UN says at least 300,000 people have died since rebel groups took up arms against Bashir's Arab-dominated government in 2003.

"The situation in Darfur is not just a humanitarian crisis, it is a systematic attack against the civilian population. The situation in Darfur is a genocide, it is an ongoing genocide," Ocampo said.
From the UN News Centre (2)
At least 300,000 people have been killed and 2.7 million driven from their homes as a result of the fighting that has ravaged Darfur over the past seven years.

Comments: They are real good at stacking up huge number of kills.

Atheist soviet communist uncle Joe [Joseph Stalin], who said
One death is a tragedy; one million is a statistic.
and who himself stacked up around 20 million, would be impressed.

The conflict in Darfur, although not mentioned in either the UN or Reuters reports, is between Muslims, unlike the conflict in southern Sudan, that killed at least 2 million, which is between Christian and Animist Black south, and Muslim Arab north.

But there arguably might be some element of race involved in Darfur as well with mainly Blacks from Darfur fighting the Arab government due to neglect and bad governance, although this division is not completely true.

And as usual bleeding hearts for the hypersensitive ego and feelings of Islamic extremists, terrorists and people who don't want to admit the truth, won't worry about this too much.

They are too busy looking for even better ways to massage those egos, by censoring facts and criticism by labeling them 'hate' 'Islamophobic' and all sorts of 'hate-labels' to demonize them without giving any rational arguments, that they overlook even staggering number of deaths, while demonizing even minor flaws and mistakes on the part of those who criticize and point out the truth.

A quote to describe them would be
One [Muslim] death [at the hands of non-Muslims or TRUE moderate Muslims] is a tragedy; one million [non-Muslim deaths or Muslim deaths at the hands of other Muslims] is a statistic.

Spurious legal challenges & small scale attacks before Souther Sudan Independence referendum in January – Brief Sudan history included

From BBC
Tensions are high in the run-up to the vote [next month], with the SPLM [Sudan People's Liberation Movement - the ruling party in the South that has now backed Independence from the Muslim north] accusing the north of several small-scale attacks on the south, while the military in the north has denied the charge.

the man in charge of organising the south's referendum, Mohammed Ibrahim Khalil, warned that opponents of the vote were trying to undermine it, by filing spurious legal challenges.

"The whole idea is to create confusion and give the idea that something serious is going wrong," he said.

From Rochester Post-Bulletin
The referendum in south Sudan, and a simultaneous vote in the oil-rich Abyei region to decide if the area will go to the north or south, are part of a 2005 peace agreement which ended a civil war that killed about 2.4 million people since 1983.

From Reuters (1)
Southerners won the right to choose whether to separate from the north and form a new east African nation in a 2005 peace deal that ended a civil war that killed at least 2 million people. Most analysts expect a majority to vote to secede.

From UPI
Many fear it could also trigger a new conflict between the north, dominated by Arab Muslims, and the south, which is overwhelmingly Christian and animist.

The historic referendum, scheduled for Jan. 9, is part of a 2005 peace agreement that ended two decades of civil war in which an estimated 2 million people died, largely from famine and disease stemming from the bloodletting.

From Reuters (2)
Sudan's north-south civil war was Africa's longest running civil conflict, flaring first in 1955.

Many southerners believe they are ethnically or religiously distinct from the mostly Arab and Muslim north and an antagonistic history of war and slave trading has haunted north- south relations since before independence.

Sudan is also the axis of the continent's Arab north-African and black sub-Saharan divide. Many will see a split as a wider failure to overcome those differences.

Comments: Race (Black south vs Arab north), ethnicity and religions (Christians and Animists vs Muslims) are involved here.

This shows that the general trouble is with Muslims and isn't related solely to any particular issue like race or religion.

Deniers typically try to frame problems in terms of Christians ('crusaders', 'imperialists') versus Muslims, but this case here provides evidence against such spurious arguments since Animists are also against the Muslim north.

And there is also the case of Muslim-on-Muslim genocide in Sudan's Darfur region as well.

Deniers also try to portray conflicts with Muslims in terms of race and racism, with 'racist White Christians' attacking non-Whites. But again, the evidence here is against such claims with Muslims being non-Whites (and involved in slavery) and Blacks being non-Muslims.

The appalling death toll of at least 2 million also shows yet again the brutality of conflicts involving Muslims. Bleeding hearts for Islamists are always outraged by a small number of deaths (compared to two million) deaths resulting from anti-terror operations and exaggerates its seriousness and toll but Millions of non-Muslim deaths, like here, are forgotten.

This also shows that such appalling incidents aren't something new, recent or post-September 11 attacks in the US. Things like these have been going on prior to 9-11 and stretch right back 1,400 year to Muhammad.

Everyone should learn from the example of East Timor and also Muslim Bengladesh, where Muslims carried out a deadly but unsuccessful campaign of terror in order to stop independence from Indonesia and Pakistan. There is a well established trend here.

Sudan Presbyterian Evangelical Church (SPEC) had a contract to lease the church compound to Muslim businessman Osman al Tayeb for 80 years, but only after SPEC leaders give final approval. Fearing a permanent loss, final approval has not been give yet. Sudanese soldiers shoot in Abyei, attempting to provoke war to stop Southern Independence

Four Sudanese soldiers went on a random shooting spree in Abyei city market, Souther Sudan, wounding a trader, in order to provoke a clash to use as pretext for war. The shooting stopped due to UN intervention. The incident is an attempt by the Muslim north to stop a January referendum to decide Southern Independence and whether Abyei should be part of the north or south.
