Ayad Allawi, a secular Shiite and leader of a bloc with the most, though not a majority of seats in Iraqi parliament said in a TV interview that Iran was creating unrest in Iraq, Lebanon and among the Palestinians and that the Middle East was "falling victim to ... terrorists who are definitely Iran-financed." Unlike Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, he said he would not be "begging" Iran to agree to his attempt to form a government.
