Femal genital mutilation and being sold into marriage as a young girl in film of Waris Dirie

Graphic re-enactment of female genital mutilation (FGM) suffered as a child and of being sold off into marriage as a barely pubescent girl are included in the new film "Desert Flower", set for release in February next year. The film is based on the autobiography of Somali model and social activist Waris Dirie, who fled the marriage, came to the West and became a fashion model.
