Somali pirates get a record US 9 million dollars in ransom for oil tanker Samho Dream, and are getting more violent

 The pirates are said to have received either $US 9¹ or 9.5 million²  for release of the South Korean oil tanker, Samho Dream.  They also were paid $2.8m for the Singapore flagged ship, Golden Blessing.²

 A UN report said pirates successfully captured 37 ships in the first ten months of this year, compared to 33 for the same period last year.¹ It also said there were signs that "the level of violence employed by the pirates has increased".¹  

[Wonder if they will now go shopping for new weapons like Al-Qaeda in North Africa (AQIM) did after receiving ransom money? Giving in to terror will simply make it worst.]
