Call for creation of autonomous Christian region in Iraq's Ninevah province after Baghdad church massacre and threats

Assyrian,Chaldean and Aramaean Christians of Iraq1 have called for the creation an autonomous Christian region in Iraq's Ninevah province, where they and other minorites are the majority. German NGO, Society for Threatened Peoples, supports the call saying it was allowed by the constitution and would protect Iraq's few remaining Christians. Over 75 percent of Baghdad's Christians have already left the city since 2003 after they were targeted.
