Iran cut off a second robber's hand for the month

 Iran has cut off the hand of a 32-year-old man, know only as M., after he was convicted of four robberies in the city of Yazd. Another robber received the same punishment in Mashhad earlier this month, as did five others for theft in July at Hamedan. The rise in poverty has been suggested as the reason for increasing crime.

Iranian chocolate robber's hand to be amputated

 A Tehran court has ordered the amputation of a 21-year-old man's hand after he admitted robbing a candy store.¹ Police found a large amount of chocolate in his car when he was arrested in May.²
