Nigerian police says fear of reprisals by Boko Haram Islamists preventing people from tipping them with information

The Nigerian police in recent weeks have encouraged resident of Borno state, scene of an uprising by the Islamist Boko Haram sect last year, to offer them with tips on the sect.

So far only two have done so and the state's police commissioner Mohammed Jinjiri Abubakar said this was due to fear of reprisals and not out of support for the Islamists who last month threatened to kill informers.

In the past five months, around 50 has been killed by Boko Harma.

Comment: Yet another building restriction case similar to the case of the orphanage handed back by the Turkish government to the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Constantinople after a ruling by the EU Human Rights court. Keep in mind the Pact of Umar from the 7th century.
We shall not build, in our cities or in their neighborhood, new monasteries, Churches, convents, or monks' cells, nor shall we repair, by day or by night, such of them as fall in ruins or are situated in the quarters of the Muslims.
On the other hand, it is not an entirely bad idea to control houses of worship and preachers if there was a problem of terrorism or extremism within that religion.

Turkey hands back orphanage in Constantinople to Ecumenical Patriarchate in Constantinople after being ordered by European Court of Human Rights

The Turkish government took control of the building in 1997 saying it had fallen into disuse after being abandoned for years by a Greek Orthodox foundation that oversaw orphanages.

The EU court ruled in June that as the land on which the building was built on was registered to the church, it has de facto ownership.

Patriarch Bartholomew I plans to turn the building into an institute for the environment but has been denied permits for maintenance and repairs by the government.

The AP report also said,
The Patriarchate in Constantinople — the spiritual leader of Turkey's Greek minority — dates from the Orthodox Greek Byzantine Empire, which collapsed when the Muslim Ottoman Turks conquered the city in 1453.

Comment: Familiar story. Seizing church property and preventing building and restorations. Maybe they have something to do with the Pact of Umar (or Pact of Omar), agreed during early years of Islamic conquest, in which Christians and Jews conceded, no doubt under duress
We shall not build, in our cities or in their neighborhood, new monasteries, Churches, convents, or monks' cells, nor shall we repair, by day or by night, such of them as fall in ruins or are situated in the quarters of the Muslims.
There appears to be a historical trend, starting from early Islam and continuing on to this day.

Also note the Muslim Turk's invasion of Christian land.

Al-Qaida in Yemen claims suicide car bombing against Shiites calling them "despicable plants" to be uprooted

Al-Qaida in Yemen has claimed responsibility for a suicide car bomb attack on Wednesday against a convoy of cars in Norther Yemen.

They described Shiites as "despicable plants" to be uprooted, in their statement, appearing on extremist websites.

Comment: This from the report of the bombing on this site earlier

A tribal chief blamed Al-Qaeda for the attack but rebel spokesman Mohammed Abdulsalam told AFP that [the attack was an attempt by] "American and Israeli intelligence services to plunge Yemen into confessional and tribal conflict."

The tribal chief sounded just like the Shiite Iranians who blame everything bad on the Americans and Zionists (Jews).

Yet another unsurprising news.

Turky's Islamist PM Erdogan 'hates' Israel on religious grounds, Foreign Minister Davutoglu wants influence in Balkans like in Ottoman empire days

US embassy cables leaked by WikiLeak say that Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan "simply hates Israel" on religious grounds.

A cable reports Israeli ambassador to Turkey, Gabby Levy, as saying "He's a fundamentalist. He hates us religiously and his hatred is spreading."

It said, "Our discussions with contacts both inside and outside of the Turkish government... tend to confirm Levy's thesis that Erdogan simply hates Israel".

AFP reports other cables as saying,

Erdogan lacks "vision" and "analytic depth", reads "minimally", ignores foreign ministry expertise and is guided by an "iron ring of sycophantic (but contemptuous) advisors... which partially explains... his susceptibility to Islamist theories."

He is said to rely on "his charisma, instincts, and the filterings of advisors who pull conspiracy theories off the Web or are lost in neo-Ottoman Islamist fantasies, e.g., Islamist foreign policy advisor... Ahmet Davutoglu."

A cable signed by the US ambassador in January 2010 says Davutoglu wants to reassert on the Balkans the influence the Ottoman empire used to exert on the region.

Sources: AFP

Comment: This is nothing surprising. Conspiracy theories are rife in the Muslim world, as is expected where lack of freedom hinders rational inquiry and honest debate. In Turkey, questioning the Armenian genocide is discouraged and even persecuted, and in Iran, over five million web sites are blocked (although IranNazi.ir site wasn't) and university courses have been censored to confirm with Islam.

Terrorists and extremists want a global caliphate and are continuing the unfinished conquests with the jihads started 1,400 years ago by Mohammed himself.A bit unfair that they are saying very un-PC things like "sycophantic (but contemptuous)" while everyone else is prevented from being as frank and honest by the PC censors.

Would be very interesting to see what the Turkish and the rest really think too in reality. What kind of conspiracy theories they believe and what fantasies they have.

This also shows clearly once again that Islamists and terrorists simply hates for religious reasons and not for this or that issue, as they always say to excuse their hate, and as is always believed by naive wishful thinkers and fueled by PC fascists with agendas.

Comment: Very unsurprising. Angry, naive or misguided people, whether homosexual or straight, men or women, liberals, left-wingers, racial or ethnic minorities, politically correct wishful thinkers and others like them have an irrational desire to help Islamic extremists and terrorists, who stand for everything that they claim they are against.

Wonder if Manning or WikiLeak might have held back some material, such as on homosexuals, leftists, Muslims and Islam, not for security reasons but for PC considerations.

Manning sounds similar to Zachary Adam Chesser who has pleaded guilty to terror charges in the US. An article on him published on this site reported that 'A high school friend Drew Harrington said Chester was "always trying to find himself" and "just wanted to be part of something."'

WikiLeaks summary - Saudis donors fund terrorists, Saudi king wants Iranian snake's head cut off, Iranian Red Crescent is a front group for Iran

A brief summary of a few of the details to emerge from the US embassy cables leaked by WikiLeaks

Saudi donors were chief financiers of militant groups such as al-Qaeda2

Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah “frequently exhorted the US to attack Iran to put an end to its nuclear weapons programme” and asked them to “cut off the head of the snake” at a meeting in 2008.2

Leaders in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt referred to Iran as "evil", an "existential threat" and a power that "is going to take us to war"3

Officials in Jordan and Bahrain have openly called for Iran's nuclear programme to be stopped by any means, including military.3

Iranian Red Crescent was used by Iran to smuggle Iranian weapons and agents to Hezbollah during 2006 Israel-Lebanon war.4

'He [a credible source] said Iran used the IRC to enter Iraq during the 1980-86 war between the two countries, to get into the Balkans in the 1990s and to support Shia opposition in Bahrain and Yemen from 1997-2000. According to the cable, he said he was asked to sign certificates for two or three al-Quds officers to travel to Iraq under cover of the IRC after the US invasion. He was then asked to sign between 10 and 30 certificates. He said he refused and they were signed by a superior.'4

Israel says Palestinian Red Crescent also help move Palestinian fighters around.4

Kim Jong-il, of North Korea, was said to suffer from epileptic fits2

'Iran had obtained missiles from North Korea to give it the capacity to launch strikes on capitals in Western Europe for the first time.'2

'According to a cable dated last Feb 24, North Korea sent to Iran 19 of the missiles, capable of carrying a nuclear warhead' and it 'significantly advanced Iran’s development of intercontinental ballistic missiles'2

Comment: Not very politically correct talks in secret while censoring everyone else. Nothing too new or too much either. It can all be easily guessed even with the tiny amount of information that had been put up on this site over the past two months.

The real revelation from these leaks is the absence of any mention by the polite PC diplomats of the religion of Islam or Muslims and their culture, and the role they play in all of the world's problems.

As Germany's Family Minister Kristina Schröder said 'Religion was part of culture and culture shaped behaviour'

Or could it be that WikiLeaks did not leak any critical assessment of Islam, Muslims or their culture?

There is no hope of a solution unless the problem is honestly and truthfully stated.

And it is no time for political correctness when innocent people are being persecuted and even killed daily.

“Don't reward bad behaviour.” “A club is the only medicine for a mad dog” North Korea – Strategies that should also be adopted against Islamists

The communist North Korea attacked the South Korean Island of Yeonpyeong a few days ago by firing 50 heavy artillery shells, killing two marines3 and two civilians,4 injuring 17 other marines and three civilians, and setting 60 civilian homes on fire.3

The North claims it was attacked first but the South said it was carrying out military exercises and had only fired to the West of the Island, outside the North's territory.3

The attack came days after 'Pyongyang defiantly showed off a new uranium-enrichment facility to the world' and 'eight months after the North had torpedoed a South Korean warship killing 46 sailors'.3

Analysts say the latest attack was 'yet another calculated attempt by the regime to exploit divisions and extract concessions from the international community.'3

South Korean newspaper Dong-A Ilbo recommended that “A club is the only medicine for a mad dog” and demanded 'a strong military' response.4

Chosun Ilbo daily said “North Korea is putting a dagger to our throat," and also called for a strong response saying “Let's retaliate against North Korea's illegal attacks immediately, sternly and precisely.”4

Adm. Mike Mullen, chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff said on CNN's 'Fareed Zakaria GPS' program that the North Korean leader Kim Jong Il "is belligerent, dangerous, consistently destabilizing and is only predictable in his unpredictability.”2

"I am one who believes we shouldn't be rewarding bad behaviour here. And yet he continues to generate that behaviour in hopes that he can get attention - enough attention to move in some direction that's, quite frankly, not determined," Mullen said.1

Comment: North Korea and Iran have ties and both behave similarly. The chest-pounding violent belligerent attention seeking behaviour of North Korea can also be seen in many other different situations from the individual up to the civilisational level. No matter whether individual terrorists or groups of nations behave this way, they should never be rewarded. Instead they should be punished.

Germany's Family Minister Kristina Schröder said that two reports commissioned by her ministry has found there were “religious and cultural roots to this propensity to violence” among Muslim men.

She said
Religion was part of culture and culture shaped behaviour

“We must not construct any false taboos here: there is a macho culture among young Muslim men that glorifies violence and which also has cultural roots,”

It stemmed from perceived slights upon their honour, which they defended with violence

“If someone made an issue of the disproportionate tendency to violence among young Muslims, it was always said that this was a blanket judgement. But that’s not the case,”

“Social disadvantage and discrimination are important factors, but they are not sufficient as an explanation,”

She also said that there were reports of growing hostility towards Germans with kids in schools frequently being bullied for being Germans.

Previously, Bavarian Premier Horst Seehofer has suggested stopping immigration from Muslim countries.

Problem of Asian (MUSLIM PAKISTANI?) gangs luring and sexually abusing young White girls in Northern England but PC authorities won't admit

Nine men – all Asians (probably all Pakistanis) – except one, in Derby, England, have been jailed for sexual offenses against 27 girls,1 aged between 12-18,2 of which 22 were White.1

Two of those jailed, Abid Saddique and Mohammed Liaqat, both 28, were 'married with young children, were considered clean, upstanding family men as well as devout Muslims.'2

Since the start of the court case, these two 'had grown long beards and now wear Islamic dress'.2

The conviction of this gang came as a result of Operation Retriever, an undercover investigation by Derbyshire Police.2

It is believed that up to 100 girls may have been abused.1

The gang dressed smartly and roamed the streets in a BMW to lured and groom girls before turning them into sex slaves and raping or abusing them over weeks or months.1

The victims were held in contempt and called ‘gori’, meaning ‘white-skinned female’ in Urdu, instead of by their name.1

A female Asian social worker explained that British Pakistani men often think white girls have lower morals than Muslims girls and believe that those who dress revealing “deserve what they get”.1

This case follows two other recent cases; the jailing of five Asian men earlier this month and nine Asian weeks before that for similar sexual offences.1

According to Daily Mail
It is a subject that in politically correct modern Britain is almost taboo — rarely spoken about by the police, the courts or even the agencies that counsel the girls afterwards.1

The simple fact is that the perpetrators are almost all Asian and from the north of England — and their victims white.1
The BBC radio reports on the case barely mentioned race and even the local city newspaper failed to use the word Asian.1

The few who have spoken out against this “deafening silence” includes 'former MP Ann Cryer (criticised seven years ago when she said Asian gangs were raping white girls)' , Mohammed Shafiq, director of a charity promoting inter-community harmony, and Shokat Lal, chairman of Derby's Pakistani Community Centre in the Normanton area where most of the crimes took place.1

Shafiq has said
‘I think the police are overcautious because they are afraid of being branded racist.1
Shokat Lal also spoke out saying
‘It is important that political correctness or fear of offending any particular group of people does not get in the way of protecting those who are vulnerable.1

Asia Bibi's family in hiding after death threats, no immediate Presidential pardon and no repeal of the blasphemy law as protests held against her

Asia Bibi's lawyer has filed an appeal to the Lahore High Court against her death sentence for blasphemy.3

She had been visited in prison by Punjab governor Salman Taseer, who has appealed to the Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari for clemency.2

A report by minority affairs minister Shahbaz Bhatti, who is a Christian, recommending Bibi be pardoned and immediately freed,3 has also been submitted to the Zardari.2

The report, which was commissioned by Zardari, "concluded that the blasphemy case against Asia Bibi has been registered on grounds of personal enmity."2

Zardari has however decided not to immediately pardon her and has instead decided to wait and see her legal appeal process.3  He indicated that he may grant a pardon, a risky move given that his party's reliance on support of Islamists in parliament, if the appeal process takes too long.3

Nazir S. Bhatti, head of Pakistan Christian Congress (PCC) told AsiaNews.it earlier when news of Aisa sentence emerged that4
“According to the constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the president of Pakistan or the interior minister have the power to withdraw any case,”4

“There are examples of cases of terrorism withdrawn by the government of Pakistan. Why then the Pakistani administration is silent on Asia Bibi’s sentence?”4

“In Pakistan, some 2.8 million Christians are treated as second class citizens, whilst Islamic government feel no shame to release Muslim criminals and terrorists,”4
Pope Benedict XVI last week called for Bibi's release2,3 saying her case highlights the persecution of Pakistani Christians3 who were "often victims of violence and discrimination."2

Meanwhile protests has been held against any pardon for Bibi and she has been provided with security in prison7 while her family has gone into hiding after death threats.2

Bibi's husband, Ashiq Masih, who works in a brick factory in the Shekhupura district near Lahore said1
"We are frightened. We are receiving threats, especially from clerics. They started demonstrations in the area,"1

"Yesterday there was a protest in Shekhupura. They said they will not leave Asia Bibi alive if she is pardoned."1
In the city of Multan Tariq Naeemullah, a leader of Citizen Front of Multan said during a protest, “We will resist if the government moves against the court verdict and attempts to amend the blasphemy law.”3

In the city of Lahore, Qari Yaqub, chief coordinator for a subsidiary of Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) - a banned charity blacklisted by the UN as terror linked - lead a protest against Bibi.5

A nationally known mufti Muneer Ur Rehman, a leading cleric in Lahore, Hafiz Ibtisam Elahi Zaheer,6 and head of the Sunni Ittehad Council, Sahibzada Fazal Kareem5 also voiced opposition to any pardon for Bibi.

In Karachi, dozens of Christians have held their own protests against the law.3

Nasir Saeed from the UK office of Centre for Legal Aid, Assistance and Settlement (CLAAS), which provides free legal support to Pakistan’s Christians said that such laws5
“foster an attitude of superiority among the majority-Muslim population, that it is somehow ok to mistreat Christians.”5
The Manifesto of President Zardari's Pakistan Peoples Party calls for the repeal of the blasphemy law but they lack the numbers in parliament to carry it out.6

Shahbaz Bhatti has therefore called instead for changes to the law instead, including making false accusations a crime, abolishing the death penalty and requiring higher courts to hear such cases at the start.3

Mohamed Osman Mohamud, 19, an Oregon State University student from Corvallis, Oregon has been arrested after he detonated a fake car bomb, thinking it to be real,1,2,4 by dialing a cellphone,2 during the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony in Portland, Oregon.1,2,4

The explosives in the van1,4 parked near the Christmas tree lighting ceremony in Portland's Pioneer Courthouse Square were fakes set up by the FBI during a sting operation and no one was hurt.1,2,4

Mohamud, who claims to have written articles for Jihad Recollections, an online journal advocating violent jihad against non-Muslims,3 had been in email contact with a suspected terrorist in Pakistan's Northwest frontier province.1,4

They discussed the possibility of him traveling to Pakistan to participated in violent jihad but it did not happen1,4 as he used the wrong email address to reach a contact for his travel.1

When an undercover agent posing as an affiliate of his Pakistani contact approached him, he expressed his desire to go 'operational' by setting off explosions and asked for assistance.1,4  He also picked the Christmas lighting ceremony as a target for those explosions1,4 and said that 'he had wanted to conduct a holy war against "infidels" since the age of 15'.3

According to the Oregon, the FBI operative questioned him about the target saying4

Mohamud allegedly responded he was looking for a "huge mass that will ... be attacked in their own element with their families celebrating the holidays."4

UK's MI6 'intelligence' conned by impostor claiming to be Taliban's Mullah Mansour – “naive” Westerners “excited so quickly” about peace talks

"My good friends, this is the second time in our history that there has come back from Germany to Downing Street peace with honour. I believe it is peace for our time [emphasis added]. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. And now I recommend you to go home and sleep quietly in your beds." - British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain just before World War Two (From Wikipedia

===

An imposter who managed to fool Britain's MI6 foreign intelligence agency into believing that he was senior Taliban commander Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansour1,4 has now vanished after being paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to engage in peace talks.1,2,3

The man was flown on British C130 transport aircraft a number of times for “secret peace talks”,4 described as a "historic breakthrough",4 and participated in three sensitive meetings between Taliban and the Afghan government.3 He allegedly even met Afghan president Hamid Karzai once3 after being flown to Kabul, although this has been denied by Karzai.1,2,4

The Americans - believed to have helped the British check him using signal intelligence1 – now say they had been skeptical1 of the identity of “the Brits' guy”, judging him a few inches shorter than the real Mansour.3

The man, now thought to have been either a shopkeeper in Quetta,2,3,4 a low level Taliban commander, a conman3,4  or a Pakistain spy,3 disappeared after an Afghan official who had met the real Mansour pointed out it was not him.1,2,3

Michael Scheuer, who until 2004 was the CIA's point man for the hunt for Osama bin Laden suggested a reason for the debacle saying2
the Taliban's strength and the U.S. administration's stated goals of getting out of Afghanistan has created desperation for successes.2
A senior Afghan official said1
"British intelligence was naive and there was wishful thinking on our part."1,2,4 [Something which this site has been warning about since the beginning!]
Mr Karzai's chief of staff, Mohammad Umer Daudzai warned3
"The last lesson we draw from this: International partners should not get excited so quickly with those kind of things,"3

Comments: This must be the result of politically correct censorship that makes it an 'Islamophobic' blasphemy (Geert Wilders, Thilo Sarrazin) punishable by death or imprisonment for life in some places (Asia Bibi, Walid Husayin) any questioning or criticism of Islam or Muslims.

If anyone expresses even the slightest of doubt, based on sound evidence, about Islam or Muslims, they are branded bigots and 'Islamophobic'. Everyone is instead brainwashed into believing fairy tales and swallowing whole the politically correct version of events.

So it would not be surprising if MI6 agents didn't dare doubt what a Muslim said in this case. They would probably be branded bigots and disciplined and given corrective cultural lessons if they did. (There were concerns about Major Nidal Malik Hasan before his shootings but nothing was done.)

This is symptomatic, especially of the British among the rest of the wishful thinkers, who in their immature and childish psychology, naively and arrogantly think that being 'nice' will solve everything. (There were reports that British troops were replaced by the Americans in Musa Qala, Helmand province, Afghanistan, after their be 'nice' approach didn't work, with Marine commander Lt. Col. Michael Manning saying, "They didn't pursue the Taliban," "We'll go after them." There were also earlier claims by US General Jack Keane and Col Peter Mansoor that the Brits left in disgrace and defeat from souther Iraq after a similar approach failed and handed the place over to Islamic extremists and as a result, among other things, '45 women were killed by the militia for "un-Islamic" behaviour'. So being nice to terrorists is not nice to their victims. The French intelligence even claimed their own capital has been taken over by the Islamists and called it 'Londonistan'. The British are only hard on other British and non-British who speaks out against Islamic extremism as the recent example of 'anti-terror' police John Larkin shows.)

The case of New York city 'human rights' commissioner Omar T. Mohammedi, recently reported here, has been claimed by some to have happened as a result of similar problems.

This from the World Net Daily report
Debra Burlingame, sister of the pilot killed in the hijacked 9/11 flight that hit the Pentagon, says it's possible that Bloomberg was not aware of Mohammedi's background when he named him to the commission.

"That happens, unfortunately, as local governments cast about for someone to partner with in the Muslim community," she said. "CAIR and other similar groups have capitalized on the government's desire to engage."
And as for lessons, don't bet that they will learn anything. Dodo's never do.

There is a possibility that this conman was a double agent for the Pakistanis trying to sabotage Afghan peace talks. As reported earlier on this site here and here, Pakistan supports the Taliban with the aim of using them as their proxies in Afghanistan once foreign troops leave. But he could also be a Taliban double agent as well.

Finally, remember words such as "naive", "peace", "historic", "excited" and "desperation". They are words always heard before some tragedy or farce.

Suicide car bomber kills 1, injures 8 in attack on mourners heading to funeral of Badreddin al-Huthi, spiritual leader of Yemen's Shiite Huthi rebels

A convoy of three cars was attacked in Saada province, a stronghold of Yemen's Shiite rebels, as they were heading to Dahyan near the Saudi border for the funeral.1

The attack on Friday follows a similar suicide car bomb attack on Wednesday that killed 23 Shiites.1,2

Badreddin al-Huthi1 or Badr al-Din al-Houthi,2 86, had long suffered from asthma1 and died of natural causes.2

He was the spiritual leader of the Houthi rebel movement, named after the Houthi clan.2

The rebels from the Zaidi sect of Shi'ite Islam have long fought the government over complaints of social, religious and economic discrimination.2

A ceasefire in February halted the fighting that displaced 350,000, but there had since been sporadic clashes between the rebels and government-aligned tribes.2

Comment: Expect more such attacks, like there was in Iraq. This is just another front in the Sunni-Shiite clash with the added clan and tribal considerations.

Suicide car bombing in Yemen blamed on Al-Qaeda kills 23 Zaidi Shiites preparing to celebrate Al-Ghadeer celebration in the country's north

The suicide car bomber attacked a convoy of cars heading for Al-Ghadeer celebration, which commemorates the anointment of Ali, a key Shiite figure, as successor to Mohammed.

It killed 23 supporters and fighter of the Zaidi Shiite rebels, who are in an uneasy truce with the government, including tribal chief Hussein bin Ahmed bin Hadhban and his son.

Al-Jawf province where the attack took place is in the Sunni majority country's north where the minority Shiites make up the majority.

A tribal chief blamed Al-Qaeda for the attack but rebel spokesman Mohammed Abdulsalam told AFP that
[the attack was an attempt by] "American and Israeli intelligence services to plunge Yemen into confessional and tribal conflict."

Source: AFP

Comment: Yemen might be heading for Iraqi style Sunni-Shiite civil war and terror attacks.

Abdulsalam is playing the 'blame game' against the U.S. and Israel, which is similar to what Shiite Iran has also been accused of doing.

He might also be trying to discredit his group's opponents in the eyes of anti-American and anti-Israel public or sections of it there by linking them to the U.S. and Israel.

Death threats against Swedish Mohammed cartoonist Lars Vilks by Swedish al-Shabaab member Abu Zaid – migration for terror also urged

US monitoring group SITE said that Swedish al-Shabaab member Abu Zaid has made death threats against Swedish artist Lars Vilks for drawing a picture of Islam's prophet Mohammed.

In a video posted on jihadist forums, Zaid said
"Know what awaits you, as it will be nothing but this: slaughter!''

"To my brothers and sisters, I call you to make (migration), and if you can kill this dog called Lars (Vilks), then you will receive a great reward from Allah,"
Vilks, who drew the picture of Mohammed with the body of a dog, has dismissed the threat saying he feels safe.

The cartoon was published in 2007 by Swedish newspaper Nerikes Allehanda to illustrate the importance of freedom of expression.

Since then, Vilks has received numerous death threats, including a suspected assassination plot.

Comments: This is yet another 'death for blasphemy' case threatening freedom of expression.

Some (the "Minimizers") might try to dismiss it saying it came from a fringe extremist. But the very recent cases only several days ago of Asia Bibi being sentence to death in Pakistan and Walid Husayin being arrest and facing a possible life sentence in the Palestinian West Bank, illustrates that people such as him are not fringe. In fact only weeks ago there was a move by Muslim countries at the United Nations to impose a global blasphemy law.

This issue also is not a Christian-Muslim matter as some might try to portray since Husayin is an ex-Muslim atheist. Neither is this a West versus the non-West issue since Pakistan and the Palestinian West Bank are not in the West. This is a reminder to watch out for the "Confusers" (See the case of John Larkin) who always try to confuse the issue with something else like race or culture or this or that issue. Also keep in mind the fact that followers of other religions do not react as violently to insults (or even terrorism that kills thousands in the most savage fashion) as these people do, in case the "Equalizers" and atheists comes around with their 'moral equivalence' arguments claiming all religions to be equally violent.

There are similarities between Abu Zaid's call to use immigration as a means for terror and previous incidents such as American Muslim convert al-Qaeda spokesman Adam Gadahn urging of Muslim immigrants to carry out terror attacks against the host countries, Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula's Samir Khan saying he was ''proud to be a traitor to America'', and failed Times square car bomber Faisal Shahzad who said that he "did not mean it" when he swore the pledge of allegiance to the U.S. during citizenship ceremony.

Vilks should not live in fear ('security phobia' which is what they are trying to create) but should not dismiss it so lightly either. Theo Van Gogh was murdered in 2004 for the same offense and recently Molly Norris has had to changed her name and go into hiding after receiving death threats for urging people to draw pictures of Mohammed as an exercise of free speech.

There is also the case of Roshandra Chaundry who was recently convicted for attempted assassination of a UK MP, although that was for the MP's support for the Iraq war. Closer to home for Vilks, only a few days ago, news emerged that a Tunisian Swedish citizen had carried out a suicide bombing in Iraq, with his Swedish widow Anna praising him for it. These are only a few of the publicly known cases and there must be several others not made public or undiscovered.

So it is wrong in a way for Vilks to dismiss it too lightly. Dismissing or denying it will not make the problem go away. Instead, it plays into the hand of those who, for various agendas or misguided reasons, deny or minimize the serious threat from Islamic extremism.

A better response from Vilks would be to remind people again of the threat, not only to free speech but to everything else, from Islamic extremism, and to urge them and the government to take action against it, and to demand that no concessions be made to the terrorists or to the PC censors who wish to ban all criticism of Islam, as is happening in the case of Geert Wilders, and to further reaffirm the importance of freedom of expression, as it is being done by this blog with the articles posted here and also even by it's mere existence.

US judge rules there's “ample evidence” to justify labeling CAIR an unindicted Hamas terrorist co-conspirator

U.S. District Judge Jorge A. Solis has ruled that there is "ample evidence" CAIR engaged in "a conspiracy to support Hamas" and has refused a request to 'strike its name from documents listing it as an unindicted co-conspirator' in the Holy Land Foundation terror funding case.

The ruling was made in July 2009 but only unsealed on Friday.

CAIR was first named as an unindicted co-conspirator in 2007 and in 2008 the Holy Land Foundation and its leaders were convicted of leading a scheme to funnel more that $12 million, disguised as charity, to Hamas suicide bombers and their families.

Evidence against CIAR includes documents showing that it and it's founding chairman Omar Ahmad operated as key members of the U.S. wing of Hamas called ''Palestine Committee,'' and FBI wiretaps and testimony showing the presence of Ahmad and it's acting executive director, Nihad Awad, at a Philadelphia hotel room meeting during the last decade with Hamas leaders.

At that meeting, which was organized and led by Ahmad, they decided to deceptively substitute 'Hamas' with 'Samah' – a backward spelling of 'Hamas,' laid out plans to use Palestine committee to channel funds for Hamas, and to found CAIR as a front group for the media.

Despite these facts, media outlets, including Fox News, which is financed by the same Saudi prince funding CAIR, continue to invite CAIR, self-described as a “civil-rights advocacy organization,” for comments.

Iranian Nazi site IranNazi.Ir unblocked by Iran’s Ministry of Culture and Islamic guidance after a brief ban

The 'pro-Nazi and anti-Jewish website'1 calling itself “Historical Research Society for World War Two and the Third Reich”2  explained the temporary block saying that
"And because Jews have always used their power and influence for their advantage, we were not an exception (to this) and only after 17 days we became the target of these creatures and we faced this problem because of Jews' personal complaints."2
Reuters said that in Iran the government has 'strict controls on the Internet blocking many sites deemed undesirable.'2

 Al-Arabia also said that
While it blocks around five million political, cultural, religious, and “indecent” websites, the Iranian Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance permitted the operation of a website called irannazi.ir1
This has lead to objections from both 'pro-government website Tabnak and the pro-reformist Rooz Online.'1

According to Reuters, the site does not appear to be linked to the Iranian state,2 but Rooz Online has accused deputy minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Muhammad Ali Ramin of being behind lifting of the ban.1

Ramin is a known supporter of Nazi ideas and had neo-Nazi connections when he lived in Europe. Iranian journalist Mohammad Reza Yazdanpanah argues that he is a major force behind President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's holocaust denial.1

Arab-Iranian activist Kawthar Ali warned that 'Nazi principles and the prevalence of anti-Semitic trends in Iran' endanger not only the Jews but other minorities such as the Arabs who also are Semites.1

 Al Arabya reports,
Ali pointed out that the Iranian government uses such extremist trends to serve its interests and to propagate nationalist ideologies that assert the superiority of Persians.1

Ali cited the example of communists who originally called for social justice but are now adopting extremist nationalist ideas.1

“For example Heshmat Raeisi, one of the most prominent labor movement leaders, is now advocating Persian nationalism in a country that houses a variety of ethnicities.”1

Comment: Note the racism of some Persian supremacists against Jews (Arabs and who else?), the neo-Nazi link to Iran and 'social justice' Communists turning into extreme nationalists.

See if there is a link or similarities between the racism here and the recent story of Arab Saudi school textbooks in the UK asking students to list the “reprehensible” qualities of the Jews and teaching them that they want to gain resources and control the world, while reminding that some of them were turned into pigs and apes.

See if there is a link or similarities between 'social justice' (victim-card) Communists turning into extreme (racist?) nationalists here and Iran's left-wing allies like Bolivian President Evo Morales and Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez.

Although it is not discussed here, watch out for Arab nationalism and racism too.

The website itself is not a problem. It and the other around five million websites should not be banned. This is not to condone racism, but everyone should be free to question anything they like, be it Islam, race or the Holocaust. There is no place for blasphemy laws, both religious (Asia Bibi death sentence and the possible life sentence for Walid Husayin) and non-religious PC censorship (Charges against Geert Wilders), and 'cyber-stalking' thought police.

Bolivia's Morales defiant against the US over its ties to the Iranians who have just been told to leave by their former Gambian allies

In a blunt message to the U.S. at a regional defense ministers' forum attended by U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates, the 'colorful leftist' Bolivian President Evo Morales said that
"Bolivia under my government will have an agreement, an alliance, to anyone in the world,"

"Nobody will forbid us,"
Morales is allied to Communist Cuba, left-wing anti-American Hugo Chavez of Venezuela and the Iran.

He has expressed interest in buying Iranian aircrafts for the Bolivian military and wants to build a nuclear power plant with Iranian help.

Gates replied that Bolivia was free to ally itself with anyone but that it “needs to be mindful of the number of United Nations Security Council resolutions that have been passed with respect to Iran's behavior.”

Gambia has without explanation, ordered Iranian diplomats in the country to leave within 48 hours.2

Essa Bokarr Sey, a former Gambian ambassador to the United States, said it might be related to the recent seizure of a weapons shipment from Iran, in Nigeria, that news reports strongly suggest was destined for Gambia. Jews want resources and to rule the world, some turned to apes, death for 'gays' and how to chop of thief's limbs taught in UK Muslim weekend schools

An investigation by BBC's 'Panorama' program has found that around 5,000 school children in around 40 schools across the U.K. are being taught from textbooks with Islamic extremist content.3

Some of these texts used during part-time weekend schools4 when Muslim children are taught Saudi national curriculum2 teaches that
some Jews were transformed into pigs and apes5

the "main goal" of the Jews is to "have control over the world and its resources."1

asks children to list the "reprehensible" qualities of Jewish people2

describes the punishment for gay sex as death and states a difference of opinion about whether it should be carried out by stoning, burning with fire or throwing the person over a cliff.2

The specified punishment of the thief is cutting off his right hand at the wrist.1

including detailed diagrams about how hands and feet of thieves are amputated.2
The schools are part of the "Saudi Students Clubs and Schools in the UK and Ireland" organization1 but the Saudi government denies endorsing or having ties to it.2

The director of the clubs and schools network however said that it was under the control the Saudi Cultural Bureau, which is part of the Saudi embassy.2

Asked by the BBC about the findings of the Panorama program contained in a documentary titled “British Schools Muslim Rules,”4 the Saudi embassy said
such materials were often taken out of context and often referred to historical descriptions.2
Three years ago, the BBC also found extremist text books that refers to Christians and Jews in derogatory terms at a West London school funded by the Saudis. That discovery led to a Saudi promise then to remove those books.2

Dr Usama Hasan, an Islamic scholar and part-time imam in east London, warned that lack of interaction between and non-Muslims means “ingredients of the western world” are not learnt by young Muslims2
“so it's very easy for them to read the medieval texts which were written at a time when Islam was under attack and say non-believers are our enemies and we have to fight them."2

Comment: Note the “out of context” argument from the Saudi embassy, and “Islam was under attack” argument from Hasan.

The case for amputations seems fairly clear as stated in the Koran 5:38, "As for the thief, both male and female, cut off their hands. ... Allah is Mighty, Wise."  Hard to see how it could possibly be "out of context."

As for Jews being turned into pigs and apes, it seems to be based on the Koran 5:59-60

5:59 Say: "O people of the Book! Do ye disapprove of us for no other reason than that we believe in Allah, and the revelation that hath come to us and that which came before (us), and (perhaps) that most of you are rebellious and disobedient?"

5:60 Say: "Shall I point out to you something much worse than this, (as judged) by the treatment it received from Allah? those who incurred the curse of Allah and His wrath, those of whom some He transformed into apes and swine, those who worshipped evil;- these are (many times) worse in rank, and far more astray from the even path!"

The verses here are do not appear as clear as that for chopping off the hands but still, and this is something to remember, there is a credible basis in the Koran for such an interpretation. It is not something that's created out of thin air. There is at least some basis for such interpretations, if not more or a lot.

And in the case of "Islam was under attack" or 'Defensive' jihad argument, it seems quite clear that not all of Muhammad's wars could possibly have been defensive. Did he really need to conquer the Arabian peninsula? And why did his immediate successors, who must have known first hand what Muhammad meant about jihad, invade the lands of Christians and Pagans - something which continued throughout history and only stopping when Muslims were weak?

Also try to see if there might be any link between children being taught such violent materials and the violence inflicted on the foreign maids in Saudi Arabia, such as the recent case of Kikim and Sumiati that was posted here only hours ago.

Murder and dumping of Indonesian maid Kikim and torture of Sumiati in Saudi Arabia being 'deceitfully' dismissed as "very rare" cases

Indonesian maid7 Kikim Komalasari binti Uko Marta,10 36,4 from Cianjur, West Java,8 was allegedly 'killed by her employers and her body dumped on a roadside'4 in Saudi Arabia.  Other reports say her body was dumped in 'garbage skip'9 or at 'a dumpster.'10

Indonesia's labour minister Muhaimin Iskandar said her 'neck had been slashed and she had severe cuts to the rest of her body.'4

Anis Hidayah, executive director of a local NGO Migrant Care, said she allegedly was 'sexually and physically abused before her death.'10

This comes only a few days after news emerged that another Indonesian maid, Sumiati binti Salan Mustapa, 23, from Dompu in West Nusa Tenggara,6  was admitted to a hospital unconscious after being tortured by the wife of her employer.5

Sumiati said she was mistreated by the daughter and frequently beaten severely and burned with hot iron by the wife.5

Her injuries were so severe that she needed to be transferred from a private hospital to King Fahad Hospital to receive the required care.5

Miea Mirlina from King Fahad said

"her body was burned on many places, both legs were almost motionless, some parts of her skin on her head were removed and strong marks of old wounds were on her body including skin loss on lips and head, a fractured middle finger and a cut near an eye. Her body shows how badly she was treated."5
Didi Wahyudi, head of the citizen service and protection task force of the Indonesian Consulate in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, said concerning the attacker that6
"She was jealous of Sumiati who is young and beautiful so she tortured her"6
Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to Indonesia, Abdulrahman Al-Khayyat, claimed what happened to Sumiati was "a very rare case."10

This claim has been described as "deceitful" by Anis, who said his organization has recorded 5,563 allegations of abuse this year in Saudi Arabia, including 1,090 physical abuse, 3,568 poor working conditions and 898 sexual and nonpayment of salary cases.10

Saudi Arabia calims 'foreign workers' rights are protected under Islamic law'4 but Amnesty International's Malcolm Smart said "legal climate of impunity that allows employers to exploit, enslave, abuse, assault and injure their domestic workers with virtual impunity" exists in the Gulf states and has called for it to end.2

Human Rights Watch also said workers in Saudi Arabia have few rights and that the 'abuse is systemic' but is "hidden" in people's homes.4

There has been outrage in Indonesia over the abuses with President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono saying the murder of Kikim was "beyond inhumane"4 and calling Sumiati's abuse an "extraordinary torture."3

 AFP however added that,1
Indonesia's outrage at the abuse of Sumiati stands in contrast to its muted official response to widespread allegations of torture by its own security forces against peaceful political activists and other detainees.1

Human rights groups accuse the Indonesian military of killings, murder, torture and abuse of Papua's ethnic Melanesian majority and separatists in the Maluku islands.1

Comment: Things to note here are the inadequacies of 'Islamic law', the hypocritical outrage among some Indonesians, 'denialism' by the Saudis and another hint of a possible underlying culture of violence in sections of those societies.

The abuse cases indicate that 'Islamic law' is open to abuse here, just as it was in the case of the Pakistani blasphemy law which has been criticized as being open to false allegations by those wishing to settle scores. This no doubt was exactly what  happened to Asia Bibi who maintains her death sentence was a result of false accusations by Muslims with whom she had an argument over grossly offensive insults by them based on religion.

As the unknown AFP writer (Why was the name hidden? Are Saudis and Indonesians or the authorities in those countries that vindictive? Does it show something else too?) correctly pointed out, many or most Indonesians and Muslims in general get outraged if some alleged or actual wrong is done to them, but are not concerned about the crimes committed by those on their side, such as the occupation of West Paupa by Indonesia which has already killed a fifth of the population there. There is hypocrisy and double standards here. It might be that such Muslims are not hypocritical, but are supremacists who do not view non-Muslims as equal and so are not outraged when crimes are committed against them.

The Saudi ambassador's denial, of the maid problem is the same as the denial, aka Taqiyya, of Islamic terrorism and other problem by Muslims. The denial here might have something to do with protecting the so-called 'honor' or 'sensitivities' in PC newspeak. But the truth is that such lying will only bring dishonor and make things worse by hiding the real problem and not dealing with it.

And this from an article previously posted here
In August, another Sri Lankan, T. Ariyawathi, returned to Sri Lanka with 24 nails in her arms, legs and forehead, and claimed her Saudi Arabian employers nailed them as punishment. Saudi authorities however have questioned the credibility of her allegations.
Given the recent new revelations, Ariyawathi's case should be revisited and the credibility of the Saudi authorities who investigated her claims questioned.

The jealous wife torturing Sumiati looks similar to the burning of Coptic Christian homes in an Egyptian village a few days ago by young Muslim men over claims of a secret meeting between a Muslim girl and a Christian boy there.

Finally, these cases of abuse, when combined with other evidence, such as 'honor killings,' sexism, cruel sharia punishments, terrorism, lack of freedom and numerous other examples that can be seen on daily news, might indicate there might be some underlying violence in those Islamic cultures that needs to be addressed. The usual approach of 'isolated' or 'micro-context' explanations do not take this into account this bigger picture. The thing to notice is not how or why each problem arises but to see the big picture and recognize that it happens in those groups and do so regularly and quite predictably. It is the clouds that are the problem and trying to catch each raindrop with a bucket to stop the rain is not a solution. Sooner or later it will still rain, somewhere, somehow, for some reason.
